Festivals Of Kanipura:

So many special occasions are being celebrated in the Temple. Out of them Vishu, Deepavali, Navaratri, Shri Krishna Janmashtami and Ganesh Chaturthi are the most important ones.  During Deepavali occasion, the whole Temple surroundings are brightened by lots of Deepas (lights). During the Shri Krishna Janmashtami & Ganesh Chaturthi, special poojas and festivals are being performed by the 'Shri Krishna Janmashtami & Ganeshotsava Samithi' which is being formed for the purpose.

 

There are many kinds of offerings (Sevas) that could be offered to the Deity, out of which, Ranga Pooja (both Shri Krishna and Maha Ganapathy), Utsava, Karthika Pooja with Deeparadhane, Deeparadhane with flower garland covering, Tambila (both Naga and Pili Chamundi), Kartika Pooja, Panchakajjaaya, Haalu Payasa (Payasa with milk), Bella Payasa (Payasa with jagerry) etc are important ones.

The Annual Festival of the Temple starts on the Makara Sankramana which comes in the month of January every year with Dhwajarohana. The festival lasts for five days. On the 4th day the famous Kumble Bedi (public Fireworks show) mahotsava is being performed. Last day is known as Arata, on which day the Deity haves Avabhrutha Snana (the holy bath of the Deity at the conclusion of the sacrifice of the festival). People from in and around Kumble and also, people from far off places gather in thousands at this festival. Transport facilities over night on this special day are being arranged for the convenience of the devotees.
